I’ve done a pair of AirPods with John Lewis, first time account and used the EB method. They opened an investigation and gave me a call out the blue A few days later asking about the situation and he accepted it was a warehouse error and issued a refund.

Their email said exactly this:

“please reply to this email with the following information:
A police report for the missing product, masking any third-party data.
Multiple photos of the shipping box, specifically the outside area that was damaged during transit, and the sealing tape.
Multiple photos of the product you received and its serial number, as well as the retail box and the barcode.
Feel free to include multiple photos from different angles. The more information we have, the sooner we can get this issue resolved.”

yeah will do, should i send photos of the box empty anyway or should i ask them "why they need this" in the first instance

sent the photos and filed a police report like they asked, just waiting on a response back from apple now. my police report actually already had an outcome which was deemed negative due to "lack of evidence or any suspects"

not sure if that puts me in a good spot but im hoping Apple see that and just give up and refund me lol, thats obviously my hopeful thinking as ive never done this before, we will wait and see

You've complied with everything that was asked of you, hence Apple cannot state otherwise.

I got my iPhone 13 EB refund from Apple on Friday.
I said completely empty box so I cannot provide a serial number as I have no idea.
As soon as I provided a police report and written declaration I was literally refunded within 30 minutes haha. (Well sent a replacement in my case as I asked for).

I've read some reports of the EB failing as of late, but It's good to know Apple Is still vulnerable to some degree.

thats an incredibly good point referring to what you said about the serial, they are due to call me back so i will mention that i couldnt send them a photo of the serial as i do not have the product, thanks for the helpful input
