I'm doing the second refund to Amazon for the gpu but i made a mistake. The card they sent 4080 super (see spec sheets below) is actually smaller than the 4090 so I can't do a backplate swap. I was however able to PERFECLY swap the SN sticker on the card. The cards look almost identical minus the size and a few small things. The coreless 4090 i am sending them is bigger and weighs more however i was able to get it to fit in the packaging just fine. This btw was purchased from Amazon Resale and is an open box item. Do you think i'll be able to pull this off? What should my angle of attack be here? Should I just do a normal return and hope it goes under the radar OR should I complain to support stating it's not as described (wrong dimensions doesn't fit in case)? Thanks

So which way did you go for? Return as defective or return normally?
Normal return.
Guys check this out. Amazon returns is so bad that they accepted a entirely different dirty card (differen't manufacturer AND model) and then sold it to a customer.

Interesting. I didn't think SBing GPUs with Amazon worked anymore, but apparently, it does. I did a lot of research on this forum and elsewhere and a lot of people report that Amazon check sealed returns by using Xrays before shipping and after receiving, so that it would no longer be viable. Maybe it's luck of the draw?
Amazon isn't set to receive 50 Series on launch, so we'll need to wait a couple of months before they start to appear there after the initial hype wave. Gertz, is your account in good standing on Amazon? Have you SE'd expensive products on Amazon before?

They are sold for parts. For example if you have card with broken cooler, you can buy that one and then replace the cooler. And etc things.

It's a rare case. And they live in USA. Trying it on for example: Amazon.de it would fail 99 % they are not that idiots in the last years because of how big of a fraud is made with returns.
I know that you could be asked now for ID after returning high price items. So be aware of that.

I don't believe in what I say. Everything is just fictional and made for a good laugh.
I don't answer PM.

US imposed restrictions of exports to China. Nvidia aren’t allowed to send them top range chips used for AI so the Chinese buy 4090s instead and remove the core for use on their own designed pcb

Average about $500-600 in SEs from Amazon a year on the account but I regularly use the Amazon account to purchase things. This year I went a bit overboard by SE'ing two GPUs using SN swap.

My 4090 is arriving today and I had a quick question. Did you do anything to account for weight loss from missing vram and core ?

I didn't do anything to account for the loss in weight, corr and vram don't weigh a lot.
Wondering if anyone knows about StockX I might want try this on StockX but I'm wondering if they guarantee the seller so I'm not burning the small guy.
