Fuck yes congrats man

I will try this one on Amazon out soon

I highly recommend it. You'll probably have to wait for the 5000 series to come out and the coreless gpus to pop up on eBay for the swap. They're sold out of 4090/4080s on Amazon currently.

I will do this with the 5090, for sure. I just need to know the exact steps, to breakdown the 5090. Which will take a while until the YouTubers will do a depth video about it
How did it worked out for you?

I just watched tear down videos. I only purchased the cards that had backplates that were removable without having to teardown the entire card. When the 5000 series comes out contact me and we can start a thread together to find out which cards have easily removable back plates. But also remember we have to wait for the companies in China to buy up 5090/5080s and start reselling the coreless cards. I made contact with a seller on eBay and mentioned i'd be interested in buying coreless 5090/5080s the moment he acquires them.

Yo guys give me your thoughts about this. I'm doing the second refund to Amazon for the gpu but i made a mistake. The card they sent 4080 super (see spec sheets below) is actually smaller than the 4090 so I can't do a backplate swap. I was however able to PERFECLY swap the SN sticker on the card. The cards look almost identical minus the size and a few small things. The coreless 4090 i am sending them is bigger and weighs more however i was able to get it to fit in the packaging just fine. This btw was purchased from Amazon Resale and is an open box item. Do you think i'll be able to pull this off? What should my angle of attack be here? Should I just do a normal return and hope it goes under the radar OR should I complain to support stating it's not as described (wrong dimensions doesn't fit in case)? Thanks

I will definitely reach out to you, as soon as I have the funds and knowledge!

Should be no issue. Amazon worker has no way to test it and will refund on the spot if the sticker is the same.

My only issue is I bought the BTF version of the asus ROG extreme 4090 and the one from ebay is the normal version. The card is completely identical in dimensions the only difference is the extra btf pci slot but i'm thinking the Amazon employee wont notice that?

I am attempting the same thing. I am buying the BTF version from Amazon but the one from eBay is the normal version without a core and vram. Did you have any issues returning a normal version ? Did you just swap the backplates? Looking for some additional information on how you completed your SE.

I did the BTF version and replaced it with a normal one. I didn't do the backplate swap I swapped the SN sticker and did a very sloppy job and still got the refund. For some reason i couldn't figure out how to remove the backplate for the ASUS ROG version but I later watched a video and it seems easy. Make sure the one you are swapping is SOLD AND SHIPPED BY AMAZON. If it's a third party seller they may have more knowledge and investigate further and you will most likely not get a refund. Don't forget to check if there is a SN sticker anywhere on the PCB.

Sounds good ! Thank you for the input. I will keep y’all updated when it arrives. I will attempt to swap the backplates since that seems easier. Did you do anything to address the loss in weight from missing core and vram? Curious if I should add some accessories to the box or not. Also, was there a serial sticker on your PCB? I thought it was just on the backplate?

So which way did you go for? Return as defective or return normally?

Normal return.

Guys check this out. Amazon returns is so bad that they accepted a entirely different dirty card (differen't manufacturer AND model) and then sold it to a customer.
