What retailers are selling 4090s still? I could only find Amazon and i know for sure i'll get banned if I pull this off on them lmao.

Buying a broken 4090 and swap it out for a new one.
feasible?
Amazon wont check if's a real one or even works, they only check S/N and if the weight is correct
So be careful you only got one shot
Side Note: Wait until January ! the 5090 is around the corner, keep the good account stance for the 5090
Would probably be a little while before we see a significant amount of broken or coreless 5090s no?
By the time the 5090 comes out and we start seeing some cheap broken ones on ebay the account might be in good standing?
Also how likely is it that Amazon would find out about the swap at all?

I'm curious how much weight the core and vram are and if that will be enough to cause some suspicion about the card. Perhaps add an additional accessory in the box to compensate for the discrepancy weight without raising suspicion?

Some will modify their 5090 to a water block, they most likely will sell the Cooler/"body" of the 5090 on ebay
If that is the case, the only thing to worry is, if there is a compatible PCB
With the 4090, everything was nearly the same, as the others / previous generation, just different chips and it fit perfectly.
If you just take a look on google, there are many who got a fake 4090, and while investigating they found out the scammer changed the PCB and thats the magic
Amazon etc do not care about that
Just make sure the S/N is 1:1 and everything is looking legit
I can imagine that Amazon / newegg and so on, will hire some specialists... one day thats for sure

Just received my coreless 4090 from ebay. Besides the sticker for the serial # there's nothing identifying the card as a 4090.
If so I might buy another 4090 from ebay and do a swap on B&H photo they have a rog strix 4070 TI for sale as well. Wondering if their returns are any better than Amazon or Newegg.
thanks, Gertz.

A quick look at the ROG website and found the following information about the dimension of all three cards you mentioned.
4070TI - 336 x 150 x 63 mm
4080 - 357.6 x 149.3 x 70.1mm
4090 - 357.6 x 149.3 x 70.1mm
It would seem that the 4070TI is slightly smaller than the 2 beefier cards which would be expected.

Should be no issue. Amazon worker has no way to test it and will refund on the spot if the sticker is the same.
