Yes, and I contacted them again and explained my concern to leave the item while there are kids in the apartment.
and told them I've disposed of the item you are telling me to return
this was their answer :
We know you've already got rid of the product or of the products.
We will not be able to provide a replacement or refund you for this order unless we receive the original product(s) back.
Since the product was damaged or defective, you may want to contact the manufacturer for replacement options. warranty.

Tell them you managed to retrieve the laptop after contacting the waste disposal department, however the carrier said they're refusing to transport hazardous goods.

In most cases, once the return package has been received by the shipping company, it may take up to two weeks for it to be received and processed. Please note that international returns may take longer.
We can't do anything until we receive the return.

At this stage, they have no evidence to decline your claim, hence the request for the PR.

Tell Amazon precisely what the police told you.

If they have any Issues, they can communicate directly with the officer who stated the above.
