I have friends at  UPS, FedEx and Amazon.  They are all very oblivious, and never hear about packages missing or something, there's cameras inside their vehicles and tracking on their trucks too.

I can definitely confirm this with FedEx.

Without naming specifics, I'm very well acquainted with their operations.

I figured as much, the driver probably in a hurry, or just doesn't care. It was the longest process with one big market (w) " can't do anything because someone signed for it " then back to FedEx and this continued back and forth for months. Couldn't see more than playing their game back and forth, could have contacted the bank, but had success. A lot of bouncing around.

I figured as much, the driver probably in a hurry, or just doesn't care. 

It's a combination of both but from my experience, It mostly relates to the driver running late for his/her scheduled delivery run, thus signs the consignment and leaves.

I couldn't handle waiting around for a signature for alcohol, so I always dropped it off and signed "c. 19" during covid. Never had it questioned once. There are a few times I misjudgingly believed someone was 21, but couldn't procure their ID, including a time I didn't want to haul their 4 cases of red wine back down the 4 flights of stairs so I left it.

Covid restrictions lifted and for a brief time we were required to scan people's ID. That raised a lot of red flags for customers and wasted a bunch of drivers time, and recently I noticed that requirement is gone.

I still sign for customers with "c. 19" and haven't had any questions pop up. I've done it daily for several years now. So either nobody out there is filing claims, I'm amazing (doubtful) , or fedex doesn't care. 🤷‍♂️

He will either snitch or blackmail you

If you don't have any material against him (to blackmail him) you'll get in trouble for doing this.
