I would consider that really good. The only thing holding you back is the Xeon. They're meant to be server processors.

That is true, even tho it had similar benchmarks to the i7.... something (totally forgot wich one it was, that's around 2 years ago).
Also I overclocked it to 4.2 GHz so no issues so far currently

Yes, I've spent over 15k In upgrading my entire systems and never looked back. The sheer power of running just about any tasks without Issues, Is an absolute pleasure.

In terms of your MacBook, I've heard they're excellent for GFX/designing. I've never owned one, but would love to at some point.

Thats actually really nice for a laptop.

and yes I love my Macbook. Its amazing in that factor.

When I build my desktop I will post pictures and stuff to share with the community.

Are you also purchasing a Mouse, Keyboard, and Monitor? That would add a lot to your total cost.

I have a keyboard and mouse, also a monitor.
but im going to upgrade my monitor.

I also have a laptop ... nothing compared to motherd's though. It was better than anything I was used to when I got it 4 years ago though. Now it's going for about £50 on ebay. Lenovo z50. Hopefully i'll upgrade to a PC when I move out.

@mothered im curious , why the need for 7 laptops? I can understand the portability but imo PC's are cheaper and can be upgraded much easier than laptops , assuming you didn't build these laptops yourself.

I run a thinkpad t420 at home, and a dell precision t3600, it's a xeon with 32gb of ddr3 ram, with a 970 from nvidia, works fine for my needs.
