Windows 10 Home Update Issue

Well, I finally got the 1809 update to work. I'm now trying the 1903 update currently. I'll post up what happens. Her computer is very slow. I've tried everything I can think of to speed it up, but nothing really seems to help. It isn't too old, she got it in 2014 from Best Buy. It's a HP Pavilion 17 laptop. It's a decent laptop for her needs. It's got an AMD A8 processor and it had 4gb of RAM originally, but I had an extra 4gb stick so I put it in there for her and have been trying to keep everything up-to-date for her. But it's still very slow in my opinion.

Well, unfortunately the 1903 update didn't install. Yet again.... It restarted a few times and got to 58% before saying Windows could not be installed. Rebooted and undid the changes. This shit is getting irritating.

To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe there Is.

Try performing a Windows update first (exhausting every possible update), and then update the OS version.

I have. I'm going to try doing it through a USB drive tomorrow. Gotta crash for work in the morning. I'll probably take it to work with me and do it. I'll post up what happens tomorrow.

Given everything you've tried so far, I don't see any reason why the update should fail.

As of tomorrow, I'm working a very long week so I'll check this thread on my return home.

It still didn't work. I've pretty much given up for now. if I get to aggravated with it, I'll end up breaking it lol. It's fine for what she uses it for. Besides, if worse comes to worse, I'll just use a copy of the newest Enterprise Edition I just put on one of my other computers.

A lot of Windows 10 updates are failing now. I don't know why. Microsoft forces Windows 10 down your throat until you get it, and then they give you absolute crap.

I've been able to thwart off a lot of the recent updates. I backup most of my important stuff at night now. Windows 10 seems to update whenever it wants nowadays. No matter what you tell it.

Why do you wish to update?

I'm running the very first official release of Windows 10 (back In 2015), and have yet to experience Issues.

it's not my computer that I'm trying to solve this issue with lol. It's my mom's computer. I try to keep it updated and everything for her. She just uses it for Facebook, Instagram, and so forth lol. I'm running the newest cracked copy of Windows 10 Enterprise lol.

Windows 10 has had all sorts of issues since it was released. Well, more like a forced release anyways. Good thing it's not too much longer until Windows 11 comes out, I guess.

I realize It's your mom's PC, but why update It when (clearly) It's not needed?
