Tips: Buy a scale because some items are slightly off if you go by Amazon's weight. Generally they are on point but just to be sure.

Call right after receiving the package. You want to make it seem like you just received the package and you're frustrated that you got the wrong item.

They may or may not do an internal investigation (Happened to me once). if the weight of both items were very close, you'll be okay.

Buy the other item from another account that's not linked to you in any way. (IP address, name, phone, credit card. You know the drill)

Good luck.

Thanks Mitchel! Have you tried that with higher priced items, like over 1000€? I'm wondering if it can work in those cases as well.

Highest I've done was 1,100.

Good, that's inspiring. Was there an investigation for that 1.1k order? Im guessing there's no way around investigations at some point.

Correct. An internal investigation. Got refunded after three days.

Good luck.

Would it be better to buy the “wrong item” from like target or Walmart instead of using amazon that can possibly tie your SE account together?

So it's not needed to buy the replacement item from a completely different account? I would have problems doing that (how do you even use a different paying method? billing address will still be the same, even if you do everything from an internet point)

I return only wrong items :

- Apple TV Series 3 instead of Series 4
- Fake Airpods instead of real Airpods
- Fake iPad Pro instead of real iPad Pro
- I also bought a non-functional 65 "Samsung QLED TV on the internet at $ 150 and I bought the same model on Amazon at $ 1500, I reversed the serial numbers, refunds without any problem

the possibilities are limitless

This is one of my favorite methods, it's very easy with TVs and monitors as most serial numbers are stickers rather than engraved.
