What is BotnetOnline? 07-23-2013, 01:39 AM

Botnet Online is a text-based on-line game inspired by the world of hackers. It aims to be one of a kind and accomplishes that with unique features.
Unlike the majority of the games, player isn't just a part of the game, but instead, player is the game. All of the game systems reflect users actions and behave according to them. Each and every action will affect the whole server, either in a good way, or a bad way. That is up to you!
There is no level or class system, as I believe these systems just limit the players and make the game unbalanced. Instead BNO will provide you with enough choices and it will be up to you what you want to do.
BNO is currently in early testing and major features are still being developed.
NOTE: BNO is currently being re-written. I'll be updating this list according to my progress.

Existing features:
- BNO Coins : In-game currency.
- Bots / VPS / Dedicated server - those are something like your army. You use them mainly to attack. VPS and dedicated server are planned to have added functionality.
- Detection rate - or DR for short is a stat, that you receive for cracking passwords, attacking other players or when receiving bots.
- Banks - money has to come from somewhere. Complete system with central system-owned bank and player created banks. Reflecting how banks actually work in real world.
Planned features:
- The Police - the police is an automated task that runs every 6 hours and takes 50% of all resources from the user with highest detection rate.
- Domains - instead of a referral system, we have domains. You spread your domains on the internet and retrieve clicks. Each domain has also SEO stat that increases every 3 days and every 12 hours for user with the most clicks on his domain. Every 12 hour you receive bots / vps / dedicated servers according to your exploit type on the domain.
- Password cracking - each user has 2 passwords, one private, that is used to log-in and other semi-private, that is simply there for other users to try and crack. When a user successfully cracks another users password, he gets access to his control panel and can steal his goods.
- Quantum computer - a special item, that allows users to get points. You get 1 point for every 30 minutes of possession of the Quantum computer. In the whole game, there is only one Quantum computer and other users can "steal" it by cracking the current holders password or by destroying his firewall.
- Domain hosting - User created business, that allows other users to buy their hosting. Hosting owner can provide bonuses for his clients (such as less DR income etc.)
- ISP - User created business, that provides bandwidth to users. Bandwidth will be used on transferring goods from hacked accounts, on receiving bots from domains etc.
- Hacking Teams - like guilds, teams will have the power to make combined attacks and additional special features.
- Misc. businesses - nothing in the world of BNO is just "generated by the system". Everything has a reason and these businesses will be the ones producing any items that are needed in-game(firewalls etc.).
- And many more...!
