Other posts mention that ups/fedex don’t have time to check for ID so a signature is enough.
^ That's why I questioned the ID.
If It's checked, I'm trying to establish whether the driver "takes a copy of the ID", or purely looks at It. If It's the latter, It's useless - the driver's word cannot be used to verify the ID.

If It's dumped at your doorstep, the DNA Is good to go, regardless of the Item value.
Haha you’re giving me the courage/confidence to go through with it and hope for the best. Delivery is apparently in a week but I’ll keep this thread updated on the events along the way and hopefully there’s a favorable outcome.

Sounds good.
I'll periodically check back throughout the week.

Do you have any experience with FedEx indirect signature required?

Plenty.
An ISR simply means that a signature will be requested from either someone at the delivery address, or from a nearby location such as your neighbour. What exactly Is your concern?

Not too concerned. Just wondering, should I sign this with a fake name and hope they don’t check ID? I’m trying to avoid them pointing out that it was signed for and denying a refund. Or even going further, FedEx coming back to interrogate people living with me that don’t know about the SE.

walmart is kind of weird, it will says that it has to be signed for in the email but twice its come without needing one. if it does need a signature, definately use a fake name and just deny that you got it. only once has a driver came to my door but that was for an item left on my porch. ive never heard of police or anything like that

I see, appreciate you giving me your experience. I do see in the FedEx tracking that it says indirect signature required but I guess there’s not much I can do until it comes here. I’m hoping to avoid essentially 3 things
- Walmart denying a refund based on the presence of a signature (can be returned after the fact if fails)
- Requiring a PR
- Delivery man coming back to interrogate.
Last two wouldn’t be an issue if this was my place but I can’t have my family alerted to “missing” packages and such with people at my front porch.
None of this matters if it’s left there with no signature so we’ll see, fingers crossed!
Edit: quick question - Should I avoid leaving a letter on the door to leave the package there? If I understand correctly, that might shift the blame to me?

i dont think a letter would work, alot of time drivers leave packages out of laziness or being in a rush.

Are you referring to the driver checking your ID at the time of delivery?

It won't be a problem.
We'll discuss It when you've answered the question above.

Simply tell them that the carrier mismanaged your delivery, hence he needs to confirm a few things.
It does happen In legit circumstances, hence It won't appear suspicious to those living with you.

Apologies, I thought I responded to these, didnt mean to take so long.
Yeah I mean checking ID during delivery but I don’t think that will be necessary with indirect. I’ll just have to wait for delivery to see how it goes and play off of that.
