We tried this once before with Razer Comms, it just didn't work.

Razer Comms worked alright. I just determined Skype was better and I think others did the same. Razer Comms lacked functionality (and to be fair it was in Beta).

Slack is much better. It's not in beta and it far from lacks functionality. If anything, it has too many features.

Give me three good reasons it's bad other than something from google that you just looked up to try and make me seem wrong.

1) XMPP is a shit protocol.
2) Most XMPP clients are not secure out of the box, requiring plugins to make them secure.
3) More than one person has had a bad experience. the XMPP protocol is retarded and a tonne of people hate using it.

The only valid reason out of those three is the second one, what a nice display of your knowledge.
