Why are they requesting proof of ID?

Did they specify a reason?

Its just their general procedure for DNA. I stated multiple times that I am not happy with it and she said its a secure email address and the only way to start the investigation

It's very unusual to request ID for the purpose of an Investigation.

They obviously have your account details, so that will suffice to move forward with the claim.

Yeah I said the exact same and stated that I am not comfortable to do so and was told by the rep on the phone that they should still be able to complete without it.

Your ID Is a sensitive commodity that should only be shared where It's absolutely warranted.

It's no different to mistakes made when picking & packing orders In a warehouse environment.

Human error Is Inevitable.

In their pocket - who doesn't want a free pair of sunglasses?

Or perhaps accidently dropped and swept away by the cleaners - assuming the sunglasses were trash.

It is possible of course and I like how you leave it still to be a possibility.
Even when agents are adamant, coming back with that approach can work.

I suppose that it depends on the angle of the cameras they have and the se skills of the refunder to convince them that black is indeed white.

As social engineers, we need to cover every angle, possibility and probability with each and every SE.

It can make all the difference between success and failure.
