Very few companies would refund 4k easily especially for shit like WIR. "smaller" companies will ask you to go to your bank.

If your amazon account is good and no previous issues it's your best route.

I had the wrong version in mind. Still this is a old saturated method and not every company care about doing right with their customer like Amz/Apple (to an extent). Companies know WIR rarely ever happens at that scale so they are fine refusing refunds and seeing if customer pursues it further with bank.

If you want to stay away from Amazon. I would look up bbb.org of companies you are trying to hit and see how they handle issues. You can tell if their customer service will be difficult or not. Then you can decide whether to (dna/eb) etc. I don't know how pratical damaged/serial swap method would be for this.
