Returning Old Xbox One for New Xbox One X In-store? 12-01-2018, 05:49 PM

Good morning sinisters,
today I present to you a discussion about returns.
Yesterday I attempted to do the old instore swap return method on just a controller, aka old hobo.
I achieved this by bringing my old broken controller, and then drove to Target to buy a brand new controller. I bought the brand new Phantom black Xbox one controller with cash, went into my car, and opened the box very carefully and replaced the brand new controller inside with my old white broken controller, and also took the 14-day xbox live trial and AA batteries because why not. I then went inside and went to customer service to get a cash refund. I handed my item to the young worker, about 20, and told her I got it as a gift for my brother but he wanted a better controller. She asked me if it was opened up or not, and considering I was able to be very careful with the box I said it was never even opened. She went ahead and gave me a full refund.
Now, yeah this is an old school method. I’m sure you can do this with a lot of items at a lot of places, like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy if you say the right things.
Now that I’ve got the freely exchanged controller, and have purchased Call of Duty BO4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both at full price, I come to find out that my Orginal Xbox One is not even capable of running these games at 15 FPS. The textures look awful and I want to cry at how bad the frame rate actually is. I did research and compared the OG Xbox One vs Xbox One S vs Xbox One X. They are all very different in terms of game performance. The Xbox One X is essentially 2-3x faster than just the Xbox One S, which is just a model down from the Xbox One X. I own the OG Xbox One and bought it brand new back in 2016 for $400, and is now considered to be 10-15x times slower than the Xbox One X in terms of game processing power.
Either I have made you too bored to make it this far, or you like the information that i’ve provided.
My main discussion would like to be if I could potentially buy a brand new Xbox One X and replace it with my old Xbox One and refund it? How do you guys feel about this? Any tips or perspective you guys would like to share?
