Philips Sonicare Semi-Successful SE (Need advice) #1
Hello,

I've been trying to get a replacement from Philips using an SN with a warranty. All in all, it's been going smooth but I'm just a bit loss on what I should do next.
I found a picture of a SN online and was able to photoshop the bottom of the toothbrush with the corresponding SN, photoshopped a few more photos here and there + created a BestBuy receipt (receipt mansion) and they've now agreed to send a replacement. (This is Canada Philips Support, and it's for a Philips Sonicare Prestige Electric Toothbrush).

I didn't have a drop address available at the time, but I live in an apartment building. I used a fake name and they're sending it to the address without any specific apartment number.

But thing is they're also asking me to send the original back (they said they've included a label for the return). I'm not sure if I should make up a fake story about how it started overheating and I proceeded to recycle it as e-waste (basically telling them I no longer have the original toothbrush), or if I should just ignore them after I receive the product. Or even further, should I try double dipping and saying the first one didn't arrive? Really not sure what to do.

Would love to hear any advice.

I'm in the UK so it may be different but they never keep up with the return requests. They aren't waiting for you or return the toothbrush and they don't send reminder emails. I don't think they really keep track of the returned toothbrushes. I along with 2 others have had the toothbrush for 2 months and never had any email asking about sending the brush back. You are fine to just ignore the return shipping request.

Do you think it would be a good idea to do a double dip DNA? No signature was required & the delivery guy took a random photo for the delivery proof (can't even tell what the picture in the photo is).

I have many SEs I would like to share with other contributors. Unfortunately, that is a very small percentage of the overall community, and getting smaller by the day. I think the receipt you give matters. I gave them a fake BestBuy receipt, but then they asked for the number linked to the receipt. I think they were trying to cross-check it on their end, but I gave them some bullshit excuse on how I ordered through the phone (which you can actually do) and that they don't ask specifically ask for the phone number when you're ordering.

I did mine recently and they just offered an advanced replacement. I said the toothbrush wouldn't charge and gave them a receipt along with the sn pictures. I didn't do anything special to try and get offered the advanced replacement, they just straight up offered it. The toothbrush I did was the sonicare 9000 in case it matters. I was also using live chat.

I'm gonna try and double dip. Let you guys know how it goes. Pretty sure they won't be able to rebill me anyway. Used a fake name & didn't specify what apartment for the building.

Do you think DNA would be a good way to SE Philips? I am wanting to SE a sonicare toothbrush aswell.
Anything I say and do here is completely fictional.
