RE: Paypal with custom built PC #11
Found something interesting in Paypal's Seller's Protection:

"""
Ineligible items and transactions
Your sale is not eligible for coverage under PayPal’s Seller Protection program if:
The buyer claims (either with us or their card issuer) that the item you sent isn’t what was ordered (referred to as a “Significantly Not as Described” claim).
"""

Edit: Oh this is only for reimbursement from a buyer's claim actually.

I feel like this is a very beginner question - but what's the drawback of charging back after something like FTID fails? You can claim to PP/CC that you sent the item back so I think they would support your side in a dispute.

Well, given that the business would have neither the money or the product, I'd assume they'll bill you or involve legal. I don't support any of this personally, but you do you.

Cached buyer purchase protection page as of June 8, 2020 shows that
Quote:We understand that custom made items are unique, often expensive and may take a longer time for delivery than ‘off the shelf’ items. Therefore we are extending PayPal Buyer Protection to include eligible custom made items.

It's possible the services are no longer able to and haven't updated their shop lists.

My order was made before June 8th, so I might be able to say that I only ordered because I saw the page showing they cover custom items.

I don't see anything mentioned in the policy updates page either actually.

Actually this link says they cover custom-made items

They're certainly contradictory and not specific on what they deem to be a custom made Item.

I've researched their terms, and they haven't defined anything In particular.

Quote:Purchases of custom made items (unless they are claimed to be INR)

Thank you so much for spending the time to look into it. I guess I can only hope for the best and try to make it seem like it isn't.

You're very welcome.

I believe there's more buried somewhere In their terms, but It's 4 am on my end, so I'll check further at some point tomorrow.

You monster - go to sleep lol
I'm debating whether I should modify order page/ the invoice to seem more like a prebuilt.

Original order page (well, modified order # and time juuuuuust in case)

Order page without the link to view the order

Order page without link and added subtotal and tax

Too lazy to go at it now, but the invoice looks like:

Damn, it looks like the link that showed they support custom-made items now redirects to the one where it says they don't. No longer contradictory in a sad way Sad

edit: Looks like it's a rolling update. Got a screenshot with today's date.

I'm not sure what to make of It at this point.

The only way to fully establish whether they do/do not support custom-made Items, Is to sift through every Intricate detail In their terms.

Yeah I've been searching but haven't really found anything explicitly stating it either. I tried calling them but to no avail. I tried going on a few refunding shops and asking about it in the group chats/ to the main refunder, but nobody is answering my question. I don't think a lot of them actually know the terms very well to be honest. Just a suspicion.
I'll keep doing what research I can, but if I can't find anything conclusive, I'll just give it a try and we'll see how it goes.
