Separately, was you expecting the company to not reply? Or was your plan to box them?
I was hoping for the company not to reply. so if paypal asks me to return the items, I just send them the prepaid label that the merchant sent me and call it a day? it doesnt need to say deliver? like theres no need to make a tid?
Nope. If PayPal asks you to return the items, you need to buy a returns label yourself. Don't provide the one the company gave you. A cheap label with tracking is fine. You then proceed to box them directly, or you can ftid them if you wish.
As long as PayPal asks you to return the items, you will highly likely succeed. No need to get stressed. Good luck.
Edit: Yes it must say delivered for PayPal to refund you.
So in theory if I had ordered 2 macbooks, and sent an empty box with my own tracking label, PayPal will automatically side with me?

As In the tracking number shown as (being) delivered, or the company's Inwards goods/receiving department confirming the delivery?

Correct but the higher the order value the more risky the process can be. But in theory yes absolutely.

If I wanted to do say a 5-6k order from Curry's UK.
Probably best advisable to send back low value items of same weight and dimensions instead. Right ? Or perhaps even a box filled with dry ice of same weight ?

No need to use dry ice. Personally I've seen completely empty boxes being returned and the refund still gets issued.
Using cheap items to give some weight to the box won't hurt at all. If anything I would highly recommend this as I've heard Curry's is starting to become a little trickier. (One member on this forum got his refund almost a month after his box got delivered. It was rumoured the company gave PayPal additional info. But in the end he did get his refund. Take this info however you wish)
Edit: I would also recommend doing a semi ftid, or even a full ftid, by removing identifiable details from the shipping label. Just to be 100% safe.

Yes, this Is correct.
As long as the tracking number shows as "being delivered" with the correct sender & receiver details, then It's fine.

So what i;m goig to do is send back the old parts i removed off my car and just use their return label. I'm not too familiar with ftid so I probably wont use it. Essentially what i'm returning is the same parts but different brands and clearly used. As long as the tracking says delivered should be good? or still should I go ahead and use ftid? ill have to learn about it more.

You've filed for "Item not as described" via PayPal, correct?
If so, It's almost certain that the seller will check the return- just to establish what he/she believes was dispatched. As such, PayPal's decision can be appealed.

If you're not comfortable nor confident with any method, don't use It, particularly the flawed FTID.

Yes, i filed item not as described and I wrote that the parts came busted up, broken with missing nuts etc etc. So do you recommend that I send them old parts back? dry ice or empty box? also its about 3 boxes.
