Paypal dispute assistance - mamaloncuando - 07-09-2020

Good evening,

I'm glad I found this forum, I just started messing around with PP dispute. After looking into it I decided to give it a go and ordered about $1500 worth off a car parts website.  I filed a claim for "Item not as described" and immediately escalated it.  I wrote to PP that what I received was  5 semi open boxes  with busted up parts, missing hardware, parts and, leaking grease, etc etc.  The merchant replied the next day (according to the email I received from PP) and 2 days later (today) I received in my email return labels for all the boxes from the merchant. But PP hasn't emailed me yet or updated the claim with any decision.  So  to my understanding PP is still looking into the claim , so what should I do the event that I have no other choice but to "return" the items? tid? box full of ice and hope that UPS throws awayo the boxes? any advice is welcomed.

The PayPal dispute was not resolved, hence escalated to a claim, of which they're still In the process of Investigating the matter.

Quote:The merchant replied the next day
Are you referring to PayPal's merchant?

The merchant would be the car parts website. Why would the car parts website send me return labels if paypal have yet to conclude their investigation?

It doesn't make sense- they cannot proceed until a decision Is received from PayPal.

If your PayPal claim fails, perform a chargeback via your credit card provider, or a bank reversal with your merchant.

I agreed, its weird. But I was trying to give my credltc4rd provider a break so I rather not do another chargeback with them, but I will if theres no other choice.

A chargeback should always be used as a backup when all else fails.

In terms of your credit card provider, you'd want to keep a good standing, so I understand your position.
Ultimately, It's your call.

This seems pretty normal to me. Wait for PayPals outcome and hope they tell you to return the items. Then you provide the tracking number to PayPal.

Separately, was you expecting the company to not reply? Or was your plan to box them?

I was hoping for the company not to reply. so if paypal asks me to return the items, I just send them the prepaid label that the merchant sent me and call it a day? it doesnt need to say deliver? like theres no need to make a tid?

Nope. If PayPal asks you to return the items, you need to buy a returns label yourself. Don't provide the one the company gave you. A cheap label with tracking is fine. You then proceed to box them directly, or you can ftid them if you wish.

As long as PayPal asks you to return the items, you will highly likely succeed. No need to get stressed. Good luck.

Edit: Yes it must say delivered for PayPal to refund you.

As In the tracking number shown as (being) delivered, or the company's Inwards goods/receiving department confirming the delivery?
