You piss someone off = neg, and that's not how it should be.

Considering the fact that most self-inficted comments come from reputation, people shouldn't neg you just because you did something they don't like.

tl;dr - The reputation system is more of a comment board than a contribution detector.

Not really. Comments, or "reputation" is essensially a way for someone to express their feeling for somepony. If someone likes them, they give them poistive reputation, and tell them "I like this user because...". And if they dislike them they give them negative rep and say "I dislike this person because...".

Depends. You can have HQ threads, posts, but still be hated by a small portion of the forum in general.

I think in an instance like that, it wouldn't be okay to ban them based on rep.

Now, if they're a little kid bitching on someone else's thread about the forum in general, completely being offtopic and threatening the board without any real contribution *coughcoughglobalcough*, ban them up.

That makes sense, but you always have the right to complain and ask for it removed. If your arguments are valid, you'll get rid of it.
