Depends on what you need it for. OSX (mac) is pretty much always awful, Windows is good for gaming and design (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator), and Linux for pretty much everything. I'm running Linux exclusively right now, and it's still relatively good for gaming, though only about half my Steam library is available.

From what you're saying:
Mac - Pretty bad
Windows - For Gaming and Design
Linux - Mix up from Mac and Windows??

So if that is the case I recommend using Windows

I only recommend Linux, I run it exclusively and since Windows 10 doesn't try to destroy itself if you don't buy it, it makes running a dual boot or VM a cakewalk. The only real reason to have Windows is for a pure gaming setup and that only depends on the games because Linux is constantly growing it's gaming library (Thank you Valve) and there is pretty much a Linux alternative or port to most programs.

No, I believe what he's saying is that OS X is terrible, Windows is good if you do gaming or need stuff like PS and stuff, but otherwise, Linux is better on every other front. Which I agree with.

Darwin (Mac OSX core) based operating systems:
  • Mac OSX (5.5/10) - An OK OS that works out of the box.  Mac OSX is fully POSIX compliant, and you can compile all the same stuff as you can on Linux. CLOSED SOURCE
  • PureDarwin - A broken attempt at making an open-source, Darwin-based OS.  Uses an outdated version of Darwin.

GNU + Linux distros:
  • Arch Linux (8/10) - A good, rolling-release Linux distribution. You need to set up everything yourself.  It has all the packages (programs) that you would need in the AUR.
  • OpenSUSE (7/10) - A very stable, good distro.  A good thing is that the tumbleweed version is rolling-release.  You might have trouble finding some packages.
  • Debian (5.5/10) - An ok distro.  Can be made rolling-release.  Great for home servers and beginners.
  • Ubuntu (2/10) - A very easy-to-use distro.  Based on Debian.  Never rolling release. Will break after a few months of usage. Something will go wrong in the first two weeks.  Terrible.
Windows-like distros:
  • Windows XP (0/10) - Had it's time.  Now it's old and broken. DO NOT USE, TERRIBLE SECURITY
  • Windows Vista (0/10) - Shitty, bloated OS. DO NOT USE, OLD AND NON-SUPPORTED
  • Windows 7 (0.3/10) - Not a terrible UI.  Slow and shitty, better than vista and XP. Has support for many programs.
  • Windows 8 (0.1/10) - Microsoft went insane. Unstable and shitty.  Has support for many programs. Hated by many users
  • Windows 8.1 (0.2/10) - Microsoft added a normal menu to a shitty OS
  • Windows 10 (2.2/10) - Microsoft made an OS that isn't as bad as before.  Not POSIX compliant.  Rolling-release.  Slow.  Will last longer than Ubuntu, but still sucks.
  • ReactOS (2/10) - Has potential, but sucks as of now.  An effort to make an open-source operating system that is binary-compatible with Windows.  Sorta works.  Is a WIP.

That enough for ya?

Spoiler:
Note that Windows 10 scored higher than Ubuntu

This. I tried dual booting OEM Windows 10 with Arch and Windows shit the bed in under two months.

This isn't true in lots of cases. Depending on your distro, people may have reverse engineered proprietary drivers or adapted/created open-source ones using official APIs.

On one end of the scale, for Debian, most users either don't care or aren't skilled enough. On the other end, there's tons of packages in the AUR (and official Arch repositories, e.g. nouveau, the open source NVIDIA drivers which I use) for pretty much everything you'd need (except for obscure, less-commonly-used things like my headset base, which sucks but isn't much of a surprise).
