If someone's heavier, they could also have serious muscle mass as well. Habits/exercise matter more.

I would not have considered myself a fitness freak, but I did not have an extravagant amount of fat on me and I was more on the lean side. I was massively regrettably lazy during the lockdown - I spent most of my time at home playing games and watching movies, which involved eating a LOT of snacks. I believe I weighed 13 and a half stone (85kg) in March 2020, and now I weigh over 15 stone (over 95kg) - (I am 6'3 feet, by the way). I have commenced going out doing things and just generally going out for long walks with my fiancée, and I have recently paid for a gym membership again, but since things have scarcely commenced getting back to normal, I have had zero motivation. I will ineluctably get back to being fit and active, but right now I remain an indolent slob.

i got bored so i bought weights and started doing lots of workout excursuses

glad to say i gained 7 pounds in raw muscle

To be honest It doesn't seem tall to me, namely because I was 198 cm at the age of 17/18 (and stopped there) which was a very long time ago, so I don't know any different.

Though, I realize the Inconvenience of having to bend with the majority of physical tasks/chores.

On of them has been eating everything that has meat/fat/cheese on it that he can get his hands on, but still managed to loose a couple kilos. What I'd give to have that metabolism. He probably burns more calories as he chews, than what he seems to absorb.
Yes, I do the same by weighing myself every so often on the shipping scales at work.

Metabolism plays a huge role with weight gain/loss. I've known people who eat next to nothing (a few slices of bread with butter), yet still put on weight. On the other hand, there are those who eat all types of fatty foods with very little to no effect on their weight.

This is so true. The work colleague who loses weight while eating terribly, does manage to put on weight via muscle mass when he works out, but he has to work incredibly hard to put on the muscle weight. Not that he needs it, he's a very healthy human being. I suppose we all want to be "better" though, don't we?

This is completely true. Often, if you need to lose/gain weight, it's better to measure with a measuring tape, than looking at your weight on a scale, as that is a truer reflection of changes to your body.

That's a huge muscle gain.

Are you planning to continue working out? If I had the same results, I'd certainly be pumping Iron.

Well I actually moved states not too long before lockdown, so between the change in activity levels and the change in diet, boy did I balloon. When I lived in NYC, I was a solid 165 pounds. When I moved out to where I'm located now, I am 216 as of my last physical. It's insane what lockdown and a change-of-pace in lifestyle can do to your body.

There is no difference in my weight.
It's the same as it was. I don't know how people gain weight because I have known few of my friends gaining weight in this lockdown.

I have consciously started eating less during lockdown. Instead of three meals, I now have four times but less quantity. This has more or less maintained my weight constant. You have to overcome the craving for food when you are idle. Also keeping yourself hydrated at all times have helped.
