Keep us updated, this is really interesting. Also, couldn't you just get ahold of a serial number on craigslist by simply asking someone selling the laptop you want? You could say you just want to verify that they really own the computer by looking their serial number up.

This ^
You'd be surprised by the amount of people who simply hand over their serial numbers. The key Is, to assure the seller that you'll be purchasing the Item Immediately after the serial number has been checked.

You both are correct and bring up valid insight, however like I said previously I was intending on doing DNA until I received an email saying signature was required and the item was shipped, preventing me from canceling. Perhaps I should return the Lenovo and try again attempting to use a serial, as I don’t want this to go south and I’m stuck with the laptop, especially as stated previously the faulty item method is much more difficult to pull off. But then again, might try anyway haha.

You can opt for the wrong Item received method, but given the laptop Is In transit, you'll need to act fast.

Trying to have this be zero cost. So interesting update of events, I wasn’t home so UPS took it to their checkpoint. I requested it be re-delivered. Dropped off at home. However checking tracking it says I picked it up at the checkpoint which isn’t true? Unsure if this helps my case. Even says I signed for it.
Edit: Nevermind. Read tracking incorrectly, said it was delivered.

More than likely they'll request to ship It back, so be prepared for It.
I'll periodically check this thread for any updates.

So I decided not to go faulty and went with what I was comfortable with DNA. Called UPS and stated how could they leave my package with someone else who signed my name when I wasn’t home (which I wasn’t). I said I had cameras at work so I can prove I was here (my company won’t provide footage so this was a long shot). UPS stated they’ll investigate. I notified Lenovo of the missing package and they also stated they would investigate. UPS contacts me saying the driver left it with neighbor (assuming to save their ass that they let someone else have package). I contacted Lenovo back with the update, stating I’ll ask them when I get home. I called them again stating neighbor didn’t have it, they offered a replacement or refund and I chose the refund. Was told a manager would contact me within the next 24-48 hours regarding the refund. Looks like a go!

You've targeted and tackled this In an effective manner, which ultimately led to the SE succeeding.
A job well done.
