Lenovo SE Assistance - renold458 - 02-01-2020 Since AliExpress wants to take its sweet time with my other pending SE, I'm starting to look at SEing Lenovo which I heard is pretty easy to do in the meantime. Price of item should be around ~$2500 after tax, which is well below what I've heard is "safe" for Lenovo. Anyone has success with this? Would prefer not even purchasing the item but doubt I can find a serial with the configuration I would want, willing to do anything minus the dry ice method. RE: Lenovo SE Assistance - mothered - 02-01-2020 It's pretty difficult to be of help, without knowing the Item you're looking to SE. Please provide all relevant details, Inclusive of Its weight and dimensions. Apologies for the newbie mistake. 2in1 Yoga C940, I don’t see item size details on Lenovo’s website but Amazon says the laptop is 4.17 lbs, package would be 17.2 x 12.5 x 4.7 inches. I'm looking at my list now, and only have serials for HP laptops (Omen, Pavilion and Chromebook), which I'm pretty sure the warranty applies. And If they're anything like FedEx, a damage report will Instantly be raised prior to transit. As such, you're left with the good old DNA or wrong Item received- both of which will work when planned and executed effectively. However, due to the cost of the Item, do expect an Investigation opened and a lengthy claims process. You can also use the faulty Item method, whereby It caught fire and for health and safety reasons, you've Immediately disposed of It. This eliminates sending It back, but can be more difficult to execute than the above methods. I can try to look for one on eBay or something, just the config I want is a built model. Could also do research on HP but haven’t found a decent equivalent to a Yoga. Will spend more time to see my options if I go this route. Works decently, time isn’t a concern and my area is known to have packages go missing. Will probably have to do wrong item as signature may be required, but have to find something cheap enough to make this worth it. If no signature required, DNA is a go. I have never tried this method, may give it a try to have some experience under my belt so I don’t default to DNA each time. I will do research for a serial first then check HP options, if nothing I’ll report back on if and when I place an order and method I will go with. Sounds good. Do reply with the latest events, and whether you require assistance along the way. I've done them a few times successfully each time. You have to be patient and persistent though it involves a lot of phone calls not just a couple this SE takes over a month. For serials I find them on Ebay there is also a software that generates lenovo serials of you look around. I never do dry Ice with them just schedule a pick up with FedEx and have them pick up an empty box. RE: Lenovo SE Assistance - renold458 - 02-05-2020 So update, I ordered a lower end model just to try this out. 14” C940, about 3 lbs. Does say signature required which is a bummer. It looks like my best bet is the faulty method. Are they willing to refund in that case or will they jump quickly to a product replacement? Of course I’d prefer a refund. Wouldn't have needed to purchase RE: Lenovo SE Assistance - renold458 - 02-05-2020 (02-05-2020, 08:19 PM)Parliament Wrote: Are you refunding from Lenovo? You could ask for a refund. Unsure of where to find that Lenovo serial gen either. But to answer your question I didn’t know it was sign on delivery until I purchased. And yes I purchased directly from Lenovo. And it was already shipped. |
