Keep or drop my class? 08-29-2013, 03:12 AM
#1
I'm taking graphic design at my high school as a class. Only for the first semester. Here's the only problem, my teacher has never taught a graphics class before. We are using standard Windows XP dells. We don't have Photoshop, Cinema 4D or any other high end graphics programs, and with a new policy, we cannot use our phones or tablets to do our work on.
I am asking you guys if I should stick with it and take the easy A, or drop it for a study hall to get a head start on my core class homework?
Thanks,
Falcon.

If your teacher has no experience teaching design and graphics, and you don't have any high end programs, you should drop it. Practice helps you get better, a class just helps it a bit more, but if it's lacking basic essentials, then I would drop it.

I have already filled out the form today at school. I just wanted to make sure it was the right choice.

There is no point, because what will you learn from a teacher that doesn't know the subject, and a class that doesn't have the utilities at hand.

I found 'graphics' was quite different to 'graphic design'.

Keep it. If you have the knowledge you imply you have, it's an easy A.
