Fedora was my first distro. Welcome to the forum.

Ubuntu was mine but no computer I've ever owned has liked it or maybe it's simply not as user friendly as advertised.

I remember having fun with DSL (Damn Small Linux) when I was 12? Shii..

Ubuntu is babbies first Linux.

The tutorials are old, but a very good stepping stone for those wishing to get Into the scene. Have a most pleasant stay.

Compatibility-wise running XP, It's even better for you. If you were running a more superior OS, you can always setup a VM and Install Windows XP thereafter.

And you're most welcome with my greeting. If you need anything, I'm just a PM away.

Well on Fedora its difficult to use VMWare because of constant kernel updates (too quick for Oracle at times). Luckily this XP is a modified version from years ago called MicroXP so its stripped down for my Pentium 4 machine with 512mb RAM
and i did some additional regedits etc and its running like a beast. It's 13 years old.

I've been using ubuntu-server distro for years now, it gets the job done .
Probably the reason why it has such low street creds in the linux community

Also welcome Hazmat, im new here too.

I have MicroXP which I obtained via a torrent download many years ago.

I could be mistaken, but I believe It was stripped using nLite. It's certainly extremely light on system resources.
