First computer experience was way back in the mid 2000s. It was on a chunky desktop that was running some sort of Windows OS, probably XP. The first time I recall using a computer was with a few games for kids. They were called AfterDarkGames, which included things like Bad Dog 911, Mowin Maniac, Toaster Run, and Roger Doger. Another game we had was called Win A Million where you would be given a pyramid of intense questions that we obviously didn't know any answers to since we were 6. But a family friend came over occasionally and he would destroy the game. He was older, near blind, and an air force veteran. We would only read him the questions and he would tell us the answers which would always be there.
First computer experiences were really fun, but they were the start of being hooked on virtual games.

My mother bringing home our 386 and telling us we'd still be using it in college.
I remember when we had to upgrade the great grey beast in order that it run Windows 95. My brothers and I could have figured out how to do the upgrade but my mother took it to a repair shop that almost fucked up the entire system.
Ever since 4th grade I've been building my own zombies out of old Dells and HP's and such. I remember when my biggest upgrade was to a zombie'd Dell running at 400MHz with 256MB RAM. It was a huge step up from my desktop form case at 133MHz with 6MB RAM and a144kb modem. The Dell also had a LAN card and a 56k modem, but by the time I was done with it we had 256kb DSL, so the LAN card came in very handy to connect to the computer we used to house the internal modem and act as router.
Wow... It's been a while...

Still remember the sound of dial up. We had less than 500 MB of RAM. Floppy disks were still a thing. Runescape/Neopets were just starting up.
