In my place, hiking or climbing is the same thing. But in some areas I have visited, climbing is much more difficult because it requires special skills.

How much are they tho? I saw few on kickstarter project but they are expensive.

As for how much, it depends on your needs and finances. But the most important ones are the "Big Three": tents (I use tarp tents or shelters without frames), sleeping bags, and backpacks.

Honestly, I kind of fucking despise hiking until you get me out there. It's a love-hate relationship but I don't take long getting into it
