Do you love hiking? - kakekgagap - 11-15-2021
Do you love hiking? And did you know that hikers are now divided into two options, conventional backpacking and ultralight backpacking. Which of these two things do you like best?
Me, now I'm moving from conventional backpacking to ultralight backpacking, this makes me comfortable when I travel long distances. Usually I carry 6kg-7kg+ when I travel, now no more than 4kg+ is enough when I travel.

When go for a hike I only bring a pair of clothes and water, the spot is just at the back of our house though

I've never been hiking but always wanted to.
The problem Is, none of my friends are Into It, hence I have no guidance on my own.

not those high high mountains.. the small ones like tropical hills forests and jungles with high elevation in some spots

You should try it, it's fun and you will get new experience.
I'm also a solo hiker, at first I found it difficult in everything. Eventually I learned a lot from watching videos (especially Kraig Adams) and joining several internet groups. I learned from the internet LOL
The first day I almost died because of insufficient food supplies, but I learned a lot from the experience.

I just don't know where to start - equipment, safety measures, etc.

Of course I do, I'm in a hiking group. I'm still using conventional backpacking.
