It doesn't make sense.
Please clarify It.
Shit didn't proofread.
Amazon told me the officer they spoke with over the phone couldn't find a report for the case number I gave Amazon.

Why does amazon think this is the customers problem? I think at that point they are deliberately trying to cock block the refund because you are flagged.
That happened too. Amazon told me to give the police a signed consent.

What do you mean signed consent?
You, amazon customer service and the cops are all gonna be buddies after this.
I'm just curious what the criteria is for amazon to request a police report. Is it a certain dollar amount, account standing or completely random? This is the worst customer service policy for dealing with shipping disputes I have ever heard of.
Its not enough that you give them the bullshit report but they argue with you about verifying it after.

Yeah, legit report. Filed online.
I told them to try again. They haven't responded yet.

One rep told me that the officer refused to release info so I have to give them my consent so that they can release info related to the case.
I don't even understand how would that work over the phone.

What a headache, I wonder if screaming at customer service would put them in line.

Well, there's no cause for concern.
You've done the right thing on your end, hence It's no fault of your own that they cannot confirm/verify the case number.
