Do you think I could get away with a DNA with Apple for an upgraded RAM macbook with an account that's 5+ years old with multiple legit purchases?

Correct, they tend to release themselves from liability and ask you to deal directly with the carrier.

Requesting a one-time exception Is a different approach altogether.

Interested in seeing if Apple's one-time exception still works today. Heard it's up to the manager's discretion now. Keep us updated.
