Hey even aside from corruption, I believe what they're looking for (and why they want it as a PDF) is the embedded links. A lot of the times the seller and item links which would normally visit the item page are either not there or redirect to something else on a fake receipt. I've had this happen a few times and just sending them a PDF from a receipt with all correct links embedded worked really well, so perhaps that will work.

Although just to cut out the risk, as mothered said, just send it corrupted and persist. It shows some extra initiative that someone looking to make a quick buck probably not (even though they are) go for.

I'm trying to SE some whitestrips and am just requesting a prepaid card because they didn't "work out" for me. I'll update once I get the response.

I'm SEing compensation for my unhappiness with their crest white stripe that I "bought". I sent them the corrupted PDF twice and he says he isn't able to make it load. I'm going to say it works on my end and suggest it's a problem with their system.

Do just that with the corrupted file and each time you send It, advise that you've used a different software to create the PDF and emphasize that "It should definitely work for you this time".

This gives the Impression that you're trying your utmost best to resolve their Issue.
