That's pretty harsh considering they may of had sentimental pictures like family member's who passed away.

CEX is an option but they wont pay you much compared to selling it on eBay etc.

The game is the game unfortunately. Phones these days have daily cloud backup anyway so I don't think that was a problem.
With eBay, you have to ship the item, pack the item, weigh the item and most of the item wait for funds and get taxed multiple times. It's a lot of hassle imo

If the pictures are so important then you make copies of them.
What if they simply had dropped their phone in the toilet? same thing.
Also CEX pays you straight cash no waiting time which is better.

What I do is go down to a local hardware store owned by the local gang. (There are multiple in my city)
I sell them for 50 cents on the dollar. I'm sure there's places wherever you live. :)

As someone else mentioned, you could try a shop on here. You won't be able to get as much per product as members here know how and why you're selling your 'wares' but the forum is the perfect place to sell PC accessories since 99% of the members (myself included) are computer nerds.

If you haven't already, you could also try selling it on whatever Craigslist alternative is popular in the UK. People that are buying things second-hand (although you'd advertise as 'like new' since you presumably haven't used the items) generally don't ask any questions so they're fairly low risk for pawing off the stuff.
