RE: AutoIt vs VB.NET #11
I like powershell, it's an awesome language, but unfortunately I can't choose from this list.

I haven't done much in AutoIt, but I would have to go with VB.Net for that reason. To make a more fair decision I would have to had used both languages a fair bit to start the mental debate on which one I would really vote for.

@[ntdll.dll]x[advapi32.dll] - what do you mean by "No OS dependency" ?
As far as I know, it's very dependent to Windows.

That's true, AutoIT works with the WindowsAPI, so unless you run a virtual machine on a mac for Windows, or you have something similar on Linux to make it run it's only Windows compatible.

Thats really one downside for autoit, only windows compat, and that the output can get kind of large...but other than that its a very good language.

Well in comparison to VB.net there's no real downside between .NET and AutoIT since both are only Windows Compatible.

AU3 is considerably more powerful and a little faster imo.

Yeah, no I would agree, AutoIT is a great language from what I know so far, I just haven't had a whole lot of time with it personally.

Well, that's not quite true. There is MonoDevelop which is cross-platform and supports many languages including .NET Framework, C#, Visual Basic.
