Asus Advice? #1
Heya gang, I recently acquired a photo of a receipt and the S/N for an ASUS ROG laptop from my own city, and I am wondering what are the best methods of securing a free replacement without sending a thing. Was thinking some combo of a leaking battery and getting blood on the device from a knick from a box cutter. Any advice?
Canadian, btw

Good luck. Asus customer service is something else.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

Could you elaborate on what you mean, and maybe recommend the method you think most likely to succeed?

Use the disposed of the faulty Item method.

Anything that warrants Its disposal - started smoking, caught fire, etc.

Unless the rep Is brain-dead and approves It on the spot, they will remain firm with the return, so be prepared for It.

Hey so i got a question, I checked the ASUS site and this serial number has been registered to the original owner I presume, will this provide me any extra difficulty?

If they ask questions, say that you've purchased It and you're now the owner of the device.

UPDATE: This got pretty close, I had said that I was going to send it in, battery acid and blood from the broken glass and all until my friend who works with Canada Post had told me that that is breaking 2 laws regarding sending biohazardous materials, and thus I threw it out, and it was buried in my trash bin at the bottom (with the garbage truck coming that night, I was hoping that them not being able to tell me in time due to their slow replies could've gained me some leverage)
They had escalated the issue 2x, and I was rudely enough told that I shouldn't have thrown it out, to go see if it's there still and if so bring it back, and though I feel I could've gotten them for basically asking me to risk bodily harm to send them an illegal parcel and all. Had the one supervisor seen that the laptop got registered on their website sometime during the process i think it would have been gold -
