Asking for a request #1
These are just some guide lines I think should be followed when asking for a request.

  1. Be Specific - Don't just say I want a signature, say how you want it to look like, what colors you want on it. And be sure to include any renders and such if you want them in the graphic as well. This also means to be clear. Try to explain it as much as possible.

  2. Be Kind - Especially if you're asking for a FREE graphic. Nice graphics take time to make, and if you're asking for it for free, be as kind as possible. The artist is taking time out of their day to make you a free graphic.

  3. Show Appreciation - The most common way to do this on a forum is to rep. It's against the rules to ask for rep however, so the artist most likely won't. But it should of been common sense to rep them for doing a free service.

  4. Give Credit - This is the last, and maybe the most important of them all. Give credit to the artist. If someone asks were you got the graphic, tell them. There is no need to lie about it, and hey maybe even link your signature to their profile

Here's a sample request form if you want to use it.

Code:
Order Type: (Banner, Userbar, Signature, ect) Text: Sub-Text: Colors Preferred: Style Preferred: (Glossy, Dark, Metal, ect) Other Things:

This is just about everything i can think of. Just remember to be courteous when asking for a free service.

Decent thread, it's a pain when people ask for something and have no idea what they want, it makes filling out their request rather difficult.

Which is what I'm trying to get across here. I know that it can be very annoying and frustrating so I figured I'd make this.
