If you bought this book from another Amazon account then they likely connected the dots, and frankly you're lucky they haven't deactivated you.
If you returned a book that they don't stock, then again, this is an issue.

Regardless, Phones are of some of the riskiest SE's in general, not just from Amazon. They likely scanned its IMEI number when they sent it out, so even if you did get away with it, the phone would likely be useless when blacklisted.

Amazon can't blacklist an IMEI.

Correct.
However, if Amazon scan an IMEI and send it out, and then it doesn't arrive and is no longer in their warehouse, they will more often then not report it to Apple, who will blacklist it.

I genuinely would like to know if they ever do. From experience, I don't think they do. Even after they explicitly said they would, they didn't. Idk.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

I don’t think they would take the effort to have a phone blocked...

Contact the supervisor and persist as hard as you can and stop refunding amazon. Theyre slowly making a comeback now, but are mostly fried up. If all else fails then initiate a chargeback with your bank.

Is this ever worth it? I genuinely ask. You win some, you lose some. To me, it's always seemed like an extreme for something you already knew was a risk. Not trying to argue mail fraud is better than bank fraud, just trying to understand why commit both after a failed attempt.

Me too, but I've seen many mentions of it. Actually, I recall someone posted a picture of a policy on one of Amazon's markets stating they do. Again, idk if they go through with it ever.

Correct.

If action Is taken, It will be placed In a pool of blacklisted numbers and when attempting to activate It with a given carrier, It will be flagged as such and the activation will be declined.

I ended up stepping back and saying my receptionist was holding the package the entire time and initiated a return that way. The "wrong item" I gave them wasn't purchased from Amazon, so I'm thinking they scanned it and noticed that so that's why they didn't provide the refund.

I was thinking chargeback but based on the research, Amazon blocks you from all their services if you do that. So I figured it wasn't worth it.
