Amazon iPhone SE #1
I planned to try and DNA an iPhone 13 from an Amazon store outside of my country to try to avoid the OTP as I have heard this can be a way of getting around it, however on this particular Amazon page says
"This product has an IMEI serial number that uniquely identifies the device. In the event that you do not receive your item and in order to combat potential fraud , Amazon may have its unique 'IMEI' serial number deactivated, and declared in the loss and theft databases, in order to to prevent fraudulent use or resale. No action is required on your part. The serial number will potentially only be used to combat any fraudulent activity associated with the missing item."

I understand it says "may have" but I was just wondering how often would you say this occurs?

I honestly don't think it occurs. At least in NA, never had an issue.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

I had a feeling that might have been the case, typically just to try to scare people I guess? Worst case scenario is I DNA it, if it gets blacklisted I simply just return it? Would they be able to tell its blacklisted (if that did occur) on return?

Definitely a scare tactic.
Let's say it did occur, and you wanted to return it, I imagine they'd just take it off the blacklist and put it back to be resold.

Just an update on this.

Purchased iPhone from Apple just now, being delivered tomorrow at 10am so about 12 hours from now which is a very impressive turnaround. Signature required on delivery, simple DNA procedure. Will keep this updated along the journey. Looking forward to having my first new phone in 3 years if all goes well.

Be sure the name on the fake signature Is somewhat legible.

As such, when It's cross-checked, It will not be associated to your profile hence "you" did not sign the consignment.

Phone got delivered by a courier on a bike, kind of like deliveroo, he arrived and asked "Who is the parcel for?" So I acted a bit confused and guessed the correct name, he then confirmed the name that the parcel was for then took a picture of my hand holding the parcel in front of my half open door.

By picture of my hand I mean the picture will likely have my fingers in, nothing more. I do not have any distinguishable features on my hands like tattoos or anything.

From what I could tell the picture is of the parcel in front of my house door number but there is no indication that the door is open and he never asked specifically for my own name or asked me to sign for anything.

It's totally useless to verify the package was handed to the correct recipient.

Is your house number located way above the height of where the photo was taken of you holding the package?

Also, can the background specifically be Identified as your home?

Are there any distinct features that can be seen with the door opened as described?
