When they actually bother to contact the shipping company for the proof of delivery, they will get back to you with this.

"Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that you haven’t received your item(s) for order #BLANK.

We have fully investigated this matter, including with the delivery carrier who delivered the package. Based on the outcome of our investigations, we believe the package was delivered to the correct address. In particular we have considered information from our records, as follows which indicate the item as delivered:

- the timed geocode stamp of the delivery location;
- information collected at the point of delivery; and
- the package weight and reported condition upon delivery.

Accordingly, based on our investigations, we won’t be able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time."

Do note that a package that's marked as delivered, by no means concludes that you personally received It.

I strongly agree with you, but this also directs us to another point, if the delivery firm states that they delivered it, conflict arises in a sense of a triangle drama, because you have your claim to the company, which wants to claim from the courier, hence why the missing item or wrong item method to some degree might actually be advantageous because it goes directly to the company, if they send you the wrong item, you are by law 1) Entitle to keep any product sent to you by a mistake from said company 2) entitled to recieve the actual item purchased or the deal would be cancelled as its not fulfilled by the other party.
the missing or wrong item falls due to if the company can proof they put the item in the box though, and we could probably keep going along with the chain of events, so im just going to cut it off here.

Even if the company can provide evidence that the item was put in to the package, how can they prove it wasn't removed prior to being sent unless CCTV captures every moment? obviously if the item is light then they still can't deny what you're saying is true. If the item is of a considerable weight, it comes in to contact with multiple people at various locations, the parcel isn't always weighed prior to being on route at your local delivery depot. So many things can go wrong with parcels that companies don't really have a leg to stand on if a customer disputes that the item is missing, item is wrong etc. If other companies start issuing a delivery OTP like Amazon, then DNA could be a method that doesn't work anymore.

There's always a method to circumvent any measure that's put In place. That's what SEing Is all about- manipulating every entity, regardless of Its nature.

I'll be writing a guide soon on how to bypass OTPs.

Items over a certain amount on Amazon are now sent with a OTP (One Time Password) This code is sent to you on the morning of your delivery via email and you have to give this code to the delivery driver before you can take for the parcel. I'm not sure where your current location is but that's what is happening in the UK and i believe it has been implemented in India for quite some time too.

Amazon have introduced a (Password/Passcode) for receiving high-value item, from now on in some country you have to provide to the delivery drivers a 6 digit passcode in order to receive the item.
