First and foremost, they may blacklist the IMEI number, hence render the phone useless.

Depending on the weight, you can opt for the "missing Item" method. Alternatively, the "wrong Item received" method works well.

As a general example, when a device Is reported missing, the IMEI Is placed In a pool of blacklisted numbers, hence when you try and activate It with the carrier, they'll see the blacklist and reject It. You can change It, however given the IMEI number Is dedicated to the device It's assigned to, spoofing/changing It may still be rejected by the carrier during the activation process.

That said, there Is a workaround. The first 8 digits of the IMEI number known as the TAC (Type Allocation Code) Is what Identifies the model & device manufacturer. When changing It, leave those digits as Is and spoof the rest. As such, the IMEI number will show up to It's corresponding device when activating.

i tried it one time and they will verify it witth the warhouse. and on their policy after it leaves the warhouse its the buyers responisiblity so it sucks
