Exactly there is nothing wrong with talking to the police because as far as their concerned you are a normal tax paying citizen reporting on an issue, you aren't forging any documents because they will issue the documents and as long as you haven't got that item in your possession to incriminate yourself then you are the victim in the situation and there's no reason why they will go after you.

Do not talk to any cops unless you are being physically attacked.

I actually manipulated the local police on a Amazon issue I had... There is nothing wrong with talking to the police, it is what you do or do not say that is important!
