I am fairly new, but with archlinux I have a little experience in it and it allows me to practice and build a system I want, not really conforming to the norm of out of the box OS' like ubuntu windows etc, Plus its a rolling release thus making the latest and greatest software available....

That's what makes Linux so good: you put in something, and that effort multiplies. It's a positive feedback cycle. -
