I recently SE’d Wayfair. Did the non-drilled holes trick.
They only offered to keep it with a 25% discount, or send it back with a prepaid label.

Told them I was a single older woman, no car to get the heavy box to the post office, etc. The most they offered was 50% refund to keep it, so I took it.

I think he was relying on you being an SE'r
I had a similar experience with another company where they were trying to get me to take a discount instead of a replacement I pressed the fuck out of them and long story shortly was able to give me a exception which I was told is very rare and I'm very lucky to get but best believe I hit them on my other addresses

Maybe.. but I doubt it. We had 2 legit orders on the account.

I did a fantastic job photoshopping all the holes to be fully covered, emailed all the photos to their customer service claim section.

Doesn't matter how good of a job you did they have been absolutely rinsed with that for example if a company is hit with EB thousands of times and you write out the best message possible and you take the best pictures possible they're going to try and reject you because they've just seen it so many times
