update: I had an hour long live chat where they were finally able to answer me comprehensively. They explained to me that once the console gets into their hands, it is their responsibility and if it gets lost or damaged they replace it. But from the moment the customer leaves the console at Ups until it arrives at the service center, Ups is responsible. They said they are shure of their investigation and they have cameras at the service center which shows that there was no console when the package was opened, and therefore they leave the responsibility to Ups and invite me to contact the courier for explanations and possible refund. I was hoping microsoft would take responsibility for the loss of the console and want to make the customer happy, but it didn't work out
I don't know how it worked for anyone with Ftid3 if they don't take responsibility for consoles they don't receive...
Now, I don't think it's worth opening an investigation with Ups (which has already told Microsoft that according to them it's a fraudulent shipment), or maybe it could work out but I don't want to have problems if they accuse me of fraud and I don't want to lose another month. So i guess i'll let it go.
I think I will try the sealed box method on Amazon, I even ordered new clear adhesive seals (round and squared) from Aliexpress. I read here that Amazon has started to inspect sealed packages, but I SE'ed a $240 electric razor with the sealed package method 3 weeks ago and so far so good.
