I’ve kept on them and insisted to be escalated. They said that since I have reached out and they’ve exhausted all options, he’s placed a note on my account and closed the case, saying that no one will respond to this issue further. I’ve kept persisting and now they will not talk about it at all.I fully understand your position, and the reason why you don't want to pursue It.
Personally, I'd keep pushing them - If need be, everyday for months, but that's just me.

Can you hit a chargeback via your bank?
I did pay for it with my apple card through PayPal but I assume they would want me to go through PayPal first or risk my account being closed. Is this right or does PayPal not mind charge backs? Goldman Sachs is also infamously terrible with disputes.
I’m not going to run out the return time, I cannot afford the charge so that will be my last option that I do not want to sabotage.
Quick edit: I see that it lets me do return as incorrect item received/damaged/etc. Is sending back a different monitor in store risky? I feel as though if they accept the return in store, they can’t really bother me after the fact but I could be wrong.
