When informing CS of the faulty item, I will emphasise the health and safety aspect of the disposal (electrical hazard). Is there anything else I should try to get across, or is it simply better to remain straightforward and avoid emotional appeal.

Keep It simple to begin with, by using health and safety as the reason for the disposal.

If need be, you can add other events as developments unfold during the course of the claim's assessment.
