They are virtually identical when looking at them and was wondering if it would be possible to switch the broken item for the newer one and then take it back to the store for a refund, stating that the item was defective?Argos are pretty meticulous when checking returns.
Are there any Identifiable markings on the Item, such as a serial number/barcode? Also, what Is the Item?

It's a set of Sony XM4 headphones, and the broken ones are the XM3's. From what I can see there's not really anything on them apart from the model number on the headband, but was just hoping they never checked that instore, and if they did then just say that was exactly what I pulled out the box.
I've returned about 5 PS5 controllers to the same store with different Serial Numbers on the controller than what's on the box, and had no issues. So thought it would be a good place to try it out
Just to update, picked up the new ones this morning but haven't opened them.
