I'm new to SEing and asked for advise on another forum about using WIR or leaking battery method for some 100/200€ item.
They told me it's a bad idea because there's an Amazon ban wave and they're more likely going to ban me. At this point I asked if doing a couple of legit orders during a 1/2 weeks timeframe would lower the risk of getting banned and they said that I will get banned anyway.
Is that true? Is Amazon currently in a ban wave?
I was thinking of SEing something else off some clothing website because of what they told me but I feel like they were either lying or didn't know what they were talking about.
Thanks in advance
Let's use a bit of perspective here.
A quick google search claims that amazon ships an estimated 2.5 Billion packages every year.
Let's say the ban wave lasted a month, that's still 208,333,333 packages a month.
Now let's just assume that a meagre 0.01% of users have a damaged item and make a claim. That's 1 in ten thousand, so I'd imagine it's actually higher.
Assuming Amazon bans those orders because of the "Ban Wave", that would be 20,833 innocent customers, banned.
I highly doubt they are going to risk their reputation to this many customers.
Also, may I add- they are ignorant if they think having an aged account won't decrease the risk of being struck by "The Mighty Ban Wave". Do you think they are going to ban someone who has spent let's say $2000 a year over the last 6 years? Over a €200 item?
I have seen the "Ban Wave" personally. At least 10 people I have been in contact with have had their accounts banned. But it's far more dynamic of a process than an insta-ban. If you plan and execute your SE smoothly, you're just another innocent customer to amazon.
