Hey guys, I tried to EB some Apple AirPods Pro 2. I received them today and I contacted Amazon support, asking for a refund. They told me to get a PDF file of a police report for them to continue helping me. I contacted my local police department and they told me to contact Amazon because “ THIS IS A MATTER FOR AMAZON TO INVESTIGATE, THEY ARE THE LEAD AGENCY HERE. YOU CAN GIVE THEM YOUR TRACKING NUMBER AS THE POLICE REFERENCE.”. What should I do?

I'd say get a signed copy of that and forward it on to the Amazon agent dealing with your request.

Ime they will not accept the police’s response, even if it was signed by the king.
To start with the request for a PR is absurd as its a civil matter and not a police matter,
imo its just a hurdle they hope people will avoid.
Just send them a fake PR

(Which is basically an online report that never gets looked into which is stated in the response you receive with your AF No)
You can also cancel the report after getting your AF No if you care

How can I fake a PR? I’m in the UK btw. If it doesn’t work, should I just ask for a chargeback from my bank? I have evidence of the police refusing to file a police report but I’m kinda hesitant because I was refused a chargeback for a failed DNA not too long ago.

I filed an Action Fraud report and sent it to them. I also emphasised that the police refused to issue me a report. They responded and said this:

“We couldn't verify the details of the Crime Reference you provided. Action force report won't work. I request you to urge the police station to provide you with a physical or a pdf police report”

I’m not sure what to do at this point, it’s like talking to a brick wall. What should I tell them?

is this an aged acc your using or first order, have you done prev RFs on it, as they seem to be putting up quite a fight over the cost of some AirPods?
Sometimes you do hit a wall with them tho, especially when mass/spam contacting
Take it you have tried speaking with a manager (on call can be best)

if this is the only SE your gna do (or one of the only) then go ahead with PP or Bank CB but if you wanna stick at this, then you have to consider returning a small order that fails so you can use one of those options for a worthwhile/several K order later
