I believe a lot of companies do it, it'll most likely just state that you're confirming you haven't received your package. I've never experienced it myself though, I've heard they're sometimes legally binding. If your refund has been finalised then you don't have to do anything else, simply ignore the driver.

My friend has had luck on a few shipments just saying that the item was successfully delivered after the refund or replacement was issued. The thinking is it cuts down on the amount of lost packages on your UPS account. It may result in a rebill though.
